Albert Pike’s Chess Set
One of the many noteworthy museum pieces at the House of the Temple is part of a chess set owned by Albert Pike, 33°. It was taken from his mountain home when it was raided by a detachment of the second Kansas Cavalry that was camped near Little Rock, Arkansas, in the summer of 1863.
You can find this and other interesting items in the Albert Pike Collection. While you’re at it, please check out some of our other museums.
